Magic Stories!
CHILDREN from Chiltern Street
Primary School in Hull, who took part in Kingstown Hospital radio's 'Magic
Hospital' story competition, have been rewarded for their hard work.
Youngsters who wrote the winning
stories were given the chance to read their work out on air.
The school has been adopted by
Hull Royal Infirmary, one of the city's hospitals which receives Kingstown
Hospital radio, which broadcasts on 1350Khz AM.
The radio station ran a story
competition, on the theme of 'The Magic Hospital', as part of the Hull
Literature festival.
Last Friday, children's author,
the Rev Toby Forward, awarded prizes to the children from the school who read
their stories on air.
First Prize went to Leah
Bauchamp, with Rachel Fee, Sarah Swaby and Adam Wilson jointly awarded second
prize. Danielle Featherstone was also specially mentioned.
Kingstown Hospital Radio
spokesman John Butcher said: 'Three months' planning has gone into the
station's coverage of this event. As well as the children's story contest, many
local writers have participated with readings and interviews. The project was
organised by team member Christine Williams and myself, and we would like to
thank everyone who contributed.'
