Tuning in to needs of sick children...
A SPECIAL gift appeal is underway
to help sick children at Hull Royal Infirmary this Christmas.
Radio Rentals Ltd. and Hospital
Broadcasting Services for Hull and East Riding have joined forces to bring
youngsters in the children's ward a festive treat.
Generous
They are appealing to the public
to donate toys and games which will be presented to the children during a fun
day at the Infirmary on December 18.
'We are appealing to the people
of Hull to be very generous this Christmas and donate some form of gift,' said
Sue Mallett, showroom manageress at Radio Rentals in Holderness Road, Hull.
'We are not necessarily looking
for cuddly toys because there are older children at the hospital,' she added.
Any new or good quality second-hand
toys will be welcomed by the appeal organisers.
These will be shared out among
the young patients along with party hats, balloons and sweets.
Radio rentals staff are giving up
their free time to take part in the fun day, which will include a special
hospital radio broadcast.
Collection
Toys can be left at Radio rentals
Ltd. 23/27 Holderness Road, and 9, King Edward Street, and at Queens Gardens,
Tower Grange, Bransholme, Hessle and Priory Road police stations.
Hull University and Hull College
of Higher Education also have collection points, along with a number of schools
in the city.
