Mr Doonican's phone-in
PATIENTS at five Hull area
hospitals will be able to listen to an interview with singer Val Doonican
tomorrow night.
The Irish singer has agreed to
phone-in to the hospital broadcasting service at 10pm from Scarborough, where
he is appearing. And residents at Hull Royal Infirmary, Kingston General,
Castle Hill, Beverley Westwood and Sutton Infirmary have been given the chance
to prepare questions for Val to answer.
The Broadcasting Service, which
is based at 98, Beverley Road, Hull, is a voluntary organisation which
broadcasts music to the patients at the five hospitals every night of the week,
except Wednesday.
Disc Jockey Dave Hutchins wrote
to Val Doonican asking him to help cheer the patients up. He got a prompt reply
from Val's manager offering the Thursday night spot.
