Just what the patient ordered!
A RADIO roadshow came to Beverley
when local hospital radio programmes were broadcast live from the town centre.
Volunteers from Kingstown
Hospital Radio took over a disused shop in Dyer Lane for the day to make their
first live outside broadcast for several years.
The broadcast was one of a series
of events organised to mark the silver jubilee of Hospital broadcasting in the
Hull area. The programmes were beamed to Hull Royal Infirmary, Kingston General
Hospital, the Princess Royal Hospital, Castle Hill, Beverley Westwood and the
Hull Maternity Hospital.
Another outside broadcast today
will see programmes going out live from Paragon Station.
Publicity officer Mr. Mike
Duggleby, who was one of a number of volunteers manning the turntables, said
the event was aimed at publicising the hospital service, and raising money.
The service is based at 98,
Beverley Road, Hull. And Mr Duggleby, said that requests could be left on a 24
hour answering service, tel: 27711
